I know I’ve mentioned it in the past, but I suffer from Chronic Intractable Migraines. This means I basically live my life with a migraine all the time. I see a neurologist for this super cool problem that I know you all are jealous you don’t suffer from. :) One thing she has been having me do is yoga. I’ve never really told you all that I do this, but she swears it will help my Botox injections last longer. (The Botox injections are the treatment of choice for my condition) So, she wrote me a prescription for yoga.
I must say that I was not someone who was every big on the idea of yoga, let along had any desire to do it, but just a few sessions made me a believer. My friend teaches it and she did a private session to teach me the basics and since then, I swear to you, you should be including it in your workout regement. I’ve even been doing it while training for the Tough Mudder!
I had to take some time off of yoga for my neck injury, but am back into the swing of it and back to loving it. I have found a few great apps on my iPad (for free no less!) that I really enjoy doing at home when I can’t make it to a class. So when the chance to review an Aurorea Yoga Mat came up, I jumped on it.

My current mat is super pretty and eco-friendly. It’s all recycled stuff and I really like it. So when I got the Aurorea Mat, I knew they were going to have to prove to me that their eco-friendly mat could be better than mine.
They sent me their Northern Lights Yoga Mat, which is eco-friendly AND biodegradable. Which I LOVE. I figured the best way to test this mat was at home where I could try both my mats. I laid them side by side and did 20 minutes of yoga, alternating mats between poses. Frankly, the difference was noticeable before I even started. The Northern Lights mat felt plush, almost like memory foam. It was thicker and softer than my current mat. While doing the poses I noticed a huge difference in my comfort. The various sitting poses I did were much nicer for my poor, very boney, behind and when standing, I noticed a significant decrease in ANY impact I might have previously felt in my low back when changing poses. And did I mention they are super pretty? LOL!

I must say, I don’t, as a general rule, do a lot of product reviews, but I’m really glad I did this one. It really did prove to me that not all yoga mats are created equally and I will be hard pressed to find a mat that I’d rather use than this one.
Aurorae offers various types of yoga mats in illuminating colors, a focal point icon and extra-long in length. Aurorae offers the best reviewed yoga mats, accessories and props online. You can brows their yoga mats, yoga bags, yoga accessories and yoga props here. And I highly suggest that you do!
If you love to do yoga, this mat is one I really suggest you consider using.

I used to do yoga all of the time! Love it. I will totally check out these mats.
I love love love doing yoga. I've been doing it since 09' and I have chronic migraines as well. Hereditary and they suck!! This really helps me stretch, and relax so they won't come as much. I'm not a pill popper by any means either. I love yoga for the relaxation, and fitness all in one. I feel like I'm always pushing others to give it a try.
